37: Peak Oil
there are 9 people interested i am interested in this class

Students will read excerpts from certain books/articles/essays and watch a documentary or two that address the subject of Peak Oil. The first part of the class will look at the history of peak oil; second, where we are now; lastly, what we can do in preparation for what is to come. Discussions and sharing of ideas will be integral to not only the course but to our sanity as we approach a post-oil world.

Hello all,Peakaware here. I’m not sure about the timeline for getting this class going, so I thought I would suggest some possible things to start with. On Wednesday Feb. 27th Dr.David Goodstein, professor of physics at caltech, will be webcasting a lecture on peak oil between 5:30 and 7:30pm. This is the link for the sponsor. (http://www.giveforthefuture.org/Video/Goodstein/psa.html)
I would consider setting up a projector at the TELIC Arts Exchange and meeting as a group as to make more of a class, but I don’t know if that is possible or how to arrange it. I have a projector, but we would need a fast Internet connection and a laptop(or computer)with video out. I also have a copy of “The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil” that we could watch.
Please visit my blog http://www.peakaware.com to see lots of video related to peak oil. Getting more people to sign up seems key to getting started, so please ask your friends and family to sign up. You can email me at will@peakaware.com to discuss…..the class. Thanks, Will Rollins
