You just need to Login or Register to make a class proposal. (Sorry about that, but it cuts down on spam and also helps with organizing)

Deploying to Heroku

This post was made to the blog for Ruby on Rails

To push to heroku, you need to push from git. So, once you have git installed (which you should):

> git init

> git add .

> git commit -m "new app"

Then get heroku gem:

> sudo gem install heroku

Register an account at heroku.com. Then, to push:

> heroku create

> heroku stack:migrate bamboo-ree-1.8.7

> git push heroku master

> git rake db:migrate

If you get weird DSL errors, follow instructions in first answer here:

Ruby on Rails homework

This post was made to the blog for Ruby on Rails

Hi all,

Before class tomorrow, pls take a minute and follow these instructions so I can know if you'll need to install software or if we can hit the ground running.

On your Mac, open Terminal (Applications > Utilities > Terminal) and type these lines in: (* just added a few more!)

ruby -v

rails -v

gem -v

gem list

which sqlite3

which port

Then please copy the whole Terminal window and paste the results into an email to me at adamflorin@gmail.com.

(If you're on Windows, just email me directly... I may have a hard time helping you.)

Thanks!
