This year's Creative Time Summit will happen in October 12~13 in New York City. The first day will be live streamed on Creative Time website, the second day will be group discussion with presenters.
"In light of the events of the past year, the 2012 Creative Time Summit will address the extreme wealth disparity that is increasingly affecting the global economy and politics. Presenters at the 2012 Creative Time Summit: Confronting Inequity will reflect upon recent upheavals in the international political and economic climate, focusing specifically on the topic of wealth inequity across the globe and the ways in which it erodes democracy." http://creativetime.org/summit/overview/
We are proposing an open class to continue conversations about the summit theme 'Confronting Inequity' in 155 Freeman, a space shared by Triple Canopy, Light Industry and The Public School in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. We are in the process of working with Creative Time to invite few presenters to join us in this class, which we are hoping to hold a day after the summit in Sunday, October 14, around 1 PM (We changed time due to popular demand)
In the past, The Public School New York presented 'Conversations after' series during Performa 11' and Occupy Wall Street, in hope to open up dialogue between creators and activists. With the series, we wish to support critical discussion between New York community and presenters who are in town for large events.
