Class Struggle Along Supply Chains: Los Angeles Port Truckers Struggle & Empire Logistics

+ Attending

This event will have two presentations on what is happening with the movement of Los Angeles/Long Beach port truckers and their connections with the trans-Pacific logistics of empire and capitalism. Los Angeles/Long Beach truckers have had a wave of strikes and struggles, shutting down the largest port in the country. Ernesto Nevarez will speak about his  25 years of experience organizing truckers. Members of the Global Supply Chains study/research group of The Public School will present on how the trucking industry fits into the larger terrain of commodity circulation at the global level, as well as presenting their Empire Logistics mapping project (here's the old website:; a newly revamped one will be released shortly).
