Every class is in one of the following 4 stages:
this is a proposed class
Most of the classes that you see listed are simply proposals. You can show your support for this proposal by clicking on the i am interested in this class link (or the + sign on the list of proposals) or by making a comment. Every month, D.A.N. (The Public School committee) meets to review all of the proposals and see which ones would be the best to make happen.
this class is now being scheduled
Once D.A.N. decides to make a class happen, a few logistics need to be worked out involving the scheduling, the instructor, and the fees. A class might spend a long time being scheduled because we’re having trouble finding a teacher. See a list of pending classes here.
this class has been scheduled!
After the logistics are all worked out, the class is scheduled with a definitive time, location, instructor, and fee. You can see a calendar of upcoming classes here or a list of all offerings ever here (at the top).
this proposal has been removed
Sometimes, D.A.N. decides that a class isn’t appropriate to The Public School and so the proposal is removed from the list of proposals. This is the inverse of offering the class, a statement of negation. Those classes are listed here.
